VCP510 VMware Certified Professional on VSphere 5

VCP5-DCV Exam testing center exam code: VCP510. The VCP510 Exam consists of 85 questions and a short pre-exam survey consisting of 8 questions. The time limit for the VCP510 exam is 90 minutes, with an additional 15 minutes to complete the survey questions and agreements. Candidates who take the VCP510 Exam and have a home address in a country where English is not a primary language will have an additional 30 minutes added to the exam time.

The passing score for this exam is 300, using a scaled scoring method. The scale is from 100-500. Scaled scores are calculated using a mathematical formula that considers a variety of factors, including the number and type of exam questions included in a specific version of the exam.

VMware Certified Professional 5 – Data Center Virtualization (VCP5-DCV)

This industry-recognized certification requires completion of a VMware-authorized training course and hands-on experience with VMware technologies. VCP-DCV certification confirms that you have the education needed to successfully install, deploy, scale and manage VMware vSphere environments, as well as the skills obtained by a minimum of six months experience with VMware infrastructure technologies.

Earn your VCP5-DCV certification, there are 4 paths for the candidates to get certified.

Path 1: Just starting with Data Center Technologies.

1 Completion of one of the following courses is REQUIRED:
vSphere: Install, Configure, Manage [V5.5]
vSphere: Fast Track [V5.5]
vSphere: Optimize & Scale [V5.5]
vSphere: Troubleshooting Workshop [V5.1]
vSphere with Operations Management: Fast Track [V5.1]

2 Choose and pass one of the following exams and get certified:
VMware Certified Professional 5 – Data Center Virtualization (VCP5-DCV): VCP510 exam or VCP550 exam

Path 2: If you have any valid VCP certification.

1 Completion of the course below is RECOMMENDED, not required.
vSphere: What’s New [V4.X to V5.5]

2 Choose and pass one of the following exams and get certified.
VMware Certified Professional 5 – Data Center Virtualization (VCP5-DCV): VCP510 exam or VCP550 exam

Path 3: you have completed a course that qualified for VCP4-DCV certification, but did not pass the VCP4-DCV exam.

1 Completion of one of the following courses is REQUIRED:

vSphere: What’s New [V4.X to V5.5]

2 Choose and pass one of the following exams and get certified:

Path 4: If you are a current VCP5-DCV who took exam VCP510 and now needs to recertify.
1 Pass the following exam before March 10, 2015.
